Finally, I have my own laptop! Well, for some of you this would be something ordinary, but for me who's from a small province in the Philippines this is something not of the ordinary.
I bought a Dell Vostro 1400 which packs a Core 2 Duo 1.4Ghz Processor, 2GB of RAM, 250GB of HDD capacity, an integrated webcam, X3100 nVidia Integrated Video 128MB, on a 14.1" WXGA Glossy Screen.
I love the 14" screen, you can really see how advanced and detailed the graphics are with this unit. The integrated webcam is also a plus with 2.0 megapixel capacity. The battery lasts for 6 hours on a 6 cell lithium battery, great if you are nowhere near an outlet. I've managed to stay on during my 2 hour inter-island trip.
Other things I observed which for me was really convenient was the laptop has no latch. it has four USB ports two on each side. A 6 in 1 card reader which I was able to use to upload my pictures from my Memory Card Pro. It also has a 1394 connection on the right side and a DVDRW on the left.
All in all I am really very contented with the laptop I purchased. Imagine it only cost me 29500 pesos!!!! Thanks in part for the help of my cousin who had the kind heart of purchasing the unit in the US and bringing it here in the Philippines.
It also has a wireless network card which is very very needed nowadays. It would really be impractical to own a laptop without built-in wireless connectivity...
